Onsite Breastfeeding Education for Pregnant and Parenting Teens
Course Description: Course is taught by an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), the premier, internationally recognized measure of knowledge in lactation consulting. Topics covered include breastfeeding success basics, common barriers to success, Baby-friendly hospital policies and practices, AAP and WHO recommendations for infant feeding, current events in breastfeeding around the globe and time for Q & A. (If course is taught within Lane County a brief explanation of Daisy C.H.A.I.N. Mothering programs is offered)
Course is dynamic, interactive and engaging.
Course is geared to fit into a 55 min block and can easily be extended to 1.5 hours.

Course Fees: $72 plus travel time, gas and mileage
The organization has been able to support a vast amount of families so that first year data indicates an 80% 6 month exclusive breastfeeding rate, compared to the Oregon rate of 30%.
